Ndlovu Medical Centre is well equipped with trained professional staff from the reception to the consulting rooms. Since 1994 Ndlovu Medical Centre provides quality health care services to the community through a scale of medical programs: efficient, equitable and affordable. Many of the services are offered as a free of charge service and some services are delivered for a fee. The following services are offered at the Ndlovu Medical Centre:
Integrated Primary Health Care
A team of medical doctors, professional nurses, radiographer, audiologists, pharmacists and support staff is daily available to deliver primary health care services of high standards to members of the community.
HIV/AIDS
Since 2003, Dr Hugo Tempelman and his team have been treating HIV patients in the Ndlovu Medical Centre with combination antiretroviral therapy (cART). The cART suppresses the viral replication and reconstitutes the immune system which makes patients less susceptible to dangerous infections. cART increases life expectancy and significantly improve the quality and longevity of life to normal.
Tuberculosis
Ndlovu Medical Centre is a treatment partner in the fight against Tuberculosis from its inception in 1994. The Department of Health and Ndlovu Medical Centre have maintained a formal relationship for over 20 years whereby they supplied Ndlovu Medical Centre with drugs, lab tests and the possibility to treat Tuberculosis in the community.
Cervical Cancer Management
Cervical Cancer is caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and is very well to manage if found early through screening programmes. South Africa is aware of the threat of HPV infection and has initiated a school-based immunisation program against HPV at the young age of 13 when the majority of girls are not yet sexually active.Audiology Services
The audiology programme offers comprehensive, context-specific, targeted and effective ear and hearing care services in rural areas, where communities have limited access to audiological services.
Ndlovu Community Dental Care Programme (NCDCP)
“Black is beautiful. But not in your mouth”. The Ndlovu Care Group provides dental care and has launched an education programme for dental health.
Pharmaceutical Services
Ndlovu Medical Centre has a full-fledged Institutional and Research Pharmacy with two Pharmacists in full employment. Their responsibilities are twofold: serve the Pharmaceutical services band also serve the clinical research which is happening at Ndlovu Care Group.
Radiography Department
Ndlovu Medical Centre has a Radiography Department with a well-qualified Radiographer full time at our service. We perform a wide variety of radiographic procedures.
